This Spicy Christmas Compote is perfect for holiday entertaining and full of cranberries, jalapeños, apples and oranges.

the inspiration:

this spicy christmas compote originated with a fusion of cranberry sauce and jalapeño jelly. I wanted the vibrancy and beautiful thickness that cranberries yield in a jam or compote, along with the spice of jalapeños and sweetness of apples and oranges. a bit of cinnamon and some festive chopped candied ginger make it feel extra special.

how to make:

this compote recipe couldn’t be easier to make. You literally toss everything in a saucepan, and let it simmer until fruits are softened and thickened. I like for some texture from the fruits to remain and the cranberries naturally thicken the compote so beautifully. this compote will store in the fridge in an airtight jar or container for weeks. so simple.
