Restaurants use more fat and salt than you think. Restaurants use more fat and salt than you think. That’s why it tastes better. Overmixing is the fastest way to ruin tender baked goods. I know your kids like to help… buuuuuut take the spatula away😜 If you want to dice melon or winter squash without the skin- don’t cut it in half first. Peel or cut the rind away first, then dice. If it sticks, it’s not ready to flip and/or your pan wasn’t hot enough. Tomato paste should always be cooked until brick red. Just say no to jarred minced garlic. Yes, it’s convenient- but grab pre-peeled cloves instead for way less artificial flavor. Stop cutting into meat to “check.” Rest it first or use a thermometer. Pre-shredded cheese is sabotaging your sauces. Anti-caking chemicals = 👎🏻 Your baking powder might be dead. If it’s older than 6 months, test it or toss it. “Healthy” doesn’t mean joyless or tasteless. If you dread eating it, it’s not sustainable🫶🏻 Are we down for a Part 6? 👩‍🍳

Not just the hangovers after 1 glass😜..but the disrupted sleep, the heightened anxiety, the shorter fuse and the way it quietly drains your energy when you’re already giving so much of yourself. For me, stepping away was more about noticing what actually helped me feel more present, more patient and more like myself🥹 Sharing in case you’ve felt this too 🤍

Many moms (including myself), have cut back on alc Many moms (including myself), have cut back on alcohol and reach for “plant gummies” instead-especially to unwind, sleep, or take the edge off anxiety🍃 I cut them out about 8 months ago… Here’s what many don’t realize:
🍃(and similar compounds) has a biphasic effect on the nervous system.
A small amount can feel calming at first…but regular or higher use can increase anxiety, irritability, and sleep disruption over time. It also affects your brain long term and can put you at higher risk for a cardiac event. @doc_amen has alot of info on his page about this✨ Why?
• 🍃 stimulates the amygdala (the brain’s fear center)
• It can blunt your body’s natural stress regulation
• It may fragment sleep, raising next-day cortisol
• When it wears off, anxiety can rebound harder So instead of calming the nervous system, it can quietly keep it stuck in a stressed loop. It just means your body might be asking for true regulation, not numbing. This doesn’t mean gummies are “bad” or that you did anything wrong. Will I still take a gummy for a fun mom’s weekend away? Sure. But repeated use is not for me. Save this if you’re sober-curious and paying attention to what actually helps💖✨
