My Whole30 Roundup

I’ve participated in at least a dozen rounds of whole30 and can truly say that it was a huge influence in my transformative story of healing. it’s a program wherein you abstain from processed foods, gluten, dairy, soy, legumes, natural and sugar sweeteners as well as alcohol for 30 days. if you are in need of a reset, I would highly recommend this one. Here is my whole30 roundup with my recipes that are whole30 compliant or easily adaptable.

thai chicken cashew lettuce cups:

some of my favorite flavors of classic thai cuisine are all nestled in a delicious and spicy lettuce wrap filling- cooling coconut milk, robust green curry paste, crunchy cashews & fragrant herbs. to make this recipe whole30 compliant, simply omit the frozen corn. Get the full recipe here

classic beef picadillo:

This is a simple one-pan dinner that is family-friendly, full of flavor and utilizes seasonal ingredients. serve with some fresh guacamole and you have a delish spread ready- your kiddos will ask for seconds. you’ll just want to skip the chips to make this recipe whole30 compliant. get the full recipe here

orange peel guacamole:

this is the perfect guacamole recipe for the avocado purist who also likes bright citrusy flavors. the emerald green concoction is divine on fish, bunless burgers or served with my classic beef picadillo. you’ll also want to skip the chips on this one to make it whole30 compliant. View the full recipe here

curried chicken salad with apricots:

it’s a flavor/texture explosion of salty, sweet, chewy, acidic, savory, spicy and creamy. it’s so tasty- you would never believe it’s also naturally made with whole foods. get the full recipe here

egg roll in a bowl:

egg roll in a bowl is the perfect one-pan meal if you love the flavors of a classic egg roll, but are looking for a healthier, high-protein and low carb version. the sauce and veggies come together quickly and i utilize two prepped veggie convenience options to cut down on chopping. to make this recipe whole30 compliant, use almond butter instead of peanut butter in the sauce. Get the full recipe here

easy paleo sheet pan dinner:

this is a great recipe if you have extra prepped roasted veggies that you need to use up in your fridge. you can also roast the veggies fresh- pick whatever you like and build your favorite bowl! when making this recipe, just make sure that your chicken sausage has compliant ingredients. this is one of my favorite ones and they usually have it stocked at most grocery stores. mom's apple lemon tuna salad

this is such a nostalgic tuna salad from my childhood! i’ve elevated it with wild-caught albacore tuna, organic fruits & vegetables and a crunch factor with chopped pecans. my mom always said to use extra celery and let it chill at least several hours, (better overnight), until ice cold and so the flavors can meld! better listen to mary Margaret. to make this recipe whole30 complaint, choose dill pickle relish over sweet and double check the ingredients. view the full recipe here.

dark cherry chili with bacon:

this dark cherry chili with bacon is savory, smoky, salty, a little sweet and so delicious. the perfect meal in a bowl that the entire family will gobble down! to make this recipe compliant, make sure to choose a sugar-free uncured bacon and omit the maple syrup. view the full recipe here.

greek salad with pistachios:

I love updating traditional recipes and this classic greek salad is an ideal candidate for an upgrade with the addition of a spicy & briny giardiniera vinaigrette and a buttery crunch addition with salty pistachios.

add your favorite grilled protein alongside, (grilled shrimp or chicken thighs would be divine), and you have a protein & healthy fat powerhouse. to make this whole30 compliant, simply omit the feta and make sure your giardiniera has whole30 compliant ingredients. view the full recipe here.

Greek Salad with Pistachios

slow cooker bourbon pear pot roast:

pot roast- a tried and true cold weather staple. we all love it and all likely have our favorite classic recipe. this slow cooker bourbon pear pot roast recipe is subtle, yet deep in flavor. a new unexpected wintertime twist on your favorite pot roast! to make this whole30 compliant, simply substitute coconut aminos for your bourbon- yielding 1 cup total coconut aminos for the recipe. view the full recipe here

southwestern turkey shepherd's pie:

this southwestern turkey shepherd’s pie was a client favorite for years in my personal chef days. it’s a nutrient-dense, protein-full dish with complex carbohydrates and lean protein. plus, it’s delicious and a great way to liven up your weeknight meal routine.

i’ve edited the classic notion of shepherd’s pie with a turkey chili-type filling then topped it with a bright and citrusy sweet potato mash topping. to make this recipe whole30 compliant, simply omit the honey in the sweet potato mashed topping. view the full recipe here.
