The status symbol of alcohol is officially dead to The status symbol of alcohol is officially dead to me😆 Now we know that alcohol raises women’s risk of breast cancer considerably and literally makes neural pathways in our brain *disappear*. But we choose to drink more when we are going through a stressful time? It makes zero sense. I remember distinctly at my father’s funeral over 2 years ago- I probably had about 8 glasses of champagne so I could be on autopilot talking to people. My last conversation was with two of my cousins who had stopped drinking recently. I told them I wanted to stop because I was focusing on my health and longevity for my son. A few months later, I stopped. And I haven’t looked back since. I still give myself the option to drink if I want, but I really haven’t wanted to. I know that can be different for everyone.
