inspiration:

my daily protein bulletproof latte is a favorite for a reason. in a high-speed blender, you simply blend up your hot morning coffee with a few ingredients and it emulsifies into a creamy dreamy coffee drink without creamers full of junk and chemicals. For this recipe, I added a big protein boost. you can use your favorite protein powder and collagen, (my picks together yield a whopping 38 grams of protein).

I’ve been drinking bulletproof coffees for the past several years mainly for the brain boosting benefits from the healthy fats and the benefits of collagen for hair, skin and nails. this peppermint mocha protein bulletproof latte is also great for digestion and balancing blood sugar.

  • pastured butter: one of the main components of a bulletproof latte. 
  • mct coconut oil: a brain-boosting healthy fat that helps allow the latte to emulsify.
  • collagen: great for your hair, skin, nails.
  • vanilla or chocolate protein powder: helps maintain muscle mass and keep you full and satiated. this brand is my current favorite. 
  • peppermint oil or pure extract: to add that classic candy cane flavor!
  • kosher salt: always make sure to add salt to sweet items- it helps balance and enhance the flavors. 
  • hot brewed coffee: we use organic and local coffee beans that we grind at home.

Peppermint Mocha Protein Bulletproof Latte

My Peppermint Mocha Protein Bulletproof Latte is the perfect festive holiday drink full of protein and healthy fats.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 serving vanilla or chocolate protein powder of choice
  • 1 serving powdered collagen of choice
  • 1 Tablespoon fair trade cacao powder
  • 1 Tablespoon pastured salted butter
  • 1 Tablespoon mct coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure peppermint extract or 1 drop peppermint essential oil *make sure to check that your peppermint oil is ingestible, some are not.
  • three shakes of cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon pure organic stevia or 3 of the tiny scoops provided or 1 Tablespoon pure maple
  • 1 generous sprinkling of salt
  • 2 cups *piping hot* organic coffee brewed with filtered water

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients except coffee in a high speed blender.
  • Slowly pour in your hot coffee, place the lid on tight, and blend, beginning on low, then slowly turning up to medium high for 30-45 seconds until frothy and mixture has emulsified.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
