Fridge Tour of Clean Eating Favorites

Join us for a fridge tour of our clean eating favorites! We did an epic fridge re-stock while we visiting my mom’s lake house.

over the past several years, I’ve guided her to make clean ingredient swaps for all of her fridge essentials. I’m so proud of her for being open to changes. the ingredients in packaged foods and groceries have vastly changed since I was a child so it was time for a refresh.

fresh produce:

some of my favorites to snack on or cook with lately are:

  • butter or baby gem lettuce
  • mini English cucumbers
  • fresh avocados
  • fresh herbs
  • sweet peppers
  • poblanos and jalapeños

the proteins:

here are some of my favorites to stock on a weekly basis:

  • organic & pastured chicken: this is my favorite grocery store brand of pastured chicken- we also used it for our organic grab & go shop and meal delivery services.
  • grass-finished lean ground beef
  • wild-caught canned tuna
  • organic ground turkey: I’ve been getting the best deal at Costco lately on 93/7 ground turkey. I never use extra lean!
  • frozen wild-caught fish filets: we like getting the wild-caught fish filets from Costco. we rotate between wild-caught salmon, cod, mahi mahi and wild alaskan halibut for special meals.
  • pastured eggs: we go through three 18-packs a week of vital farms eggs.

snacks/beverages:

we always have these items stocked for easy to grab sips & snacks…

convenience items/condiments:

we always have these go-to items stocked:

occasional indulgences:

here are some items we like to have stocked in case of entertaining:

  • jams: my parents always had an array of jams in their fridge growing up and they are great to have handy with company over.
  • cherries for cocktails: jarred cocktail cherries are a great item to have on hand.
  • chocolates: this is my current favorite brand
  • pickled red onions, olives or pickles: these are simple to add to my classic ploughman’s lunch or a charcuterie board.
  • nice cheeses: hard cheeses stay fresh for a long time making it the perfect entertaining snack to keep around.
  • organic wine: always nice to have on hand for company.

food storage:

in an effort to help do my part to protect our planet earth, I prioritize using reusable silicone bags for food storage instead of plastic bags. Harmful chemicals won’t leach into your cut open and leftover meals. I also opt for unbleached parchment paper instead of foil or plastic wrap. I hope our fridge tour of clean eating favorites has been helpful. please drop any questions in the comments! xoxo, Callie

Thanks for this!! I was looking for a few cleaner options of staples we use, and this hit all the marks! Also proud to say we already buy several of these! Thank you for keeping it clean, and educating us all!
