These are some of my fave nutrient dense items that I try to incorporate into my diet regularly to keep me satiated and full of energy. I’m an ingredient checker and always making sure things are made from *real foods*.

🍫 I was introduced to @eatprima a couple months ago and love them. They are the first ancestral protein bar and make a great convenience option when you are on the go. 16g protein, real food ingredients and no refined sugar make it a huge win for me. They also taste great and are easy to grab at your local @centralmarket. I cook a lot at home but it’s nice to have an option to travel with nutrient dense ingredients like raw honey, organic cacao, grass-fed beef tallow, organic coffee and coconut. I’m always about blood sugar balancing and hormone health so I love that they contain fatty acids known to improve energy production and regulate insulin sensitivity which is personally vital for me. 

🌰 I also grabbed some Brazil nuts which contain selenium. Amazing for hormone health, thyroid stress and a strong antioxidant especially with the onset of some perimenopause symptoms in my 40s. 

🥑 Next, the avocado. If you know me well, you’ll know that avocados go on almost every plate I make and are so versatile. 

🥕 Next, are carrots. They are a surprisingly powerful tool for hormones based on their unique fiber and phytonutrients that help with hormone balance and binding to excess estrogen which can be common in perimenopause. 

🍐 Finally, for some extra fiber, I grabbed some pears which are also coming into season making them delicious and more affordable. Plus, my 4yo is a fruit machine so always gotta stay stocked.

RECIPE👇🏻🥡 Beef & Veggie Fried Rice (GF/ RECIPE👇🏻🥡 

Beef & Veggie Fried Rice (GF/soy-free)
Yields 6 portions

1 T avocado oil
1 cup yellow onion, diced small
2 cups assorted veggies, diced small (I used carrots, eggplant, red bell and zucchini)
1 pound 93/7 pastured ground beef
1 teaspoon mineral salt
20 grounds of freshly-cracked black pepper
2 Tablespoons ginger, minced 
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup coconut aminos
3 cups leftover white rice
2 Tablespoons butter or ghee
3 large pastured @vitalfarms eggs
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
1/2 cup scallions, thinly sliced

Begin preheating your largest skillet over medium heat. After a couple minutes, add oil, onion and vegetables. Saute until lightly browned and beginning to soften, 5 minutes. 

Push vegetables to exterior of pan and add ground beef, salt and pepper. Break up and brown ground beef, while continuing to saute and mix with vegetables. Stir in ginger and garlic, and saute a few more minutes until beef is cooked through. 

Add coconut aminos and white rice, stirring until uniform. Push fried rice mixture to the perimeter leaving a circular well in the middle. 

Add butter, let it melt, then pour in eggs. Let eggs cook, scrambling gently in the well, until cooked through then stir everything together. Finish fried rice with basil and scallions then serve!

DETAILS👇🏻 🥚Grated Pastured Egg Salad- I DETAILS👇🏻

🥚Grated Pastured Egg Salad- I used 8 cooked eggs (I simmered 11 min then ice bath). Grate them with a box grater then add s&p to taste, a spoonful of pickle relish, a handful of sliced scallions, 1 T whole grain mustard, lemon zest, a couple large scoops of avocado oil mayo and a dash of sriracha. Gently mix together and enjoy!

🍲GF Tuna Noodle Casserole- I loosely followed the @iowagirleats recipe but did double @wildplanetfoods tuna and burnt my potato chip crumble so make sure to pay attention under the broiler!🫢

🍎Apple Cinnamon Protein Waffles- I added grated apples, (squeeze the moisture out in a dish towel ), and extra cinnamon to my Snickerdoodle Protein Waffles recipe- on my site!
