These Strawberry Raspberry Shortcakes with Honey Coconut Cream are a super simple and delicious dessert that the entire family will love.

Did you know that the order in which we eat things Did you know that the order in which we eat things can directly affect our blood sugar response? 🍪 

This is especially important in young children with developing brains. If kiddos are given a sweet treat like a cookie stand alone, it will spike blood sugar which can lead to hyperactivity, tantrums, meltdowns and more. 

We still want to let them ENJOY the summer sweet treats, so what can we do?🍪🍪🍪

Add in protein & fiber-rich foods BEFORE or WITH the sweet treat🍪🧀🍇

Snacks used in our picnic🍊🥨:
Protein: @organicvalley cheese sticks, @chomps meat sticks & @thenewprimal kids meat sticks, @applegate turkey pepperoni 
Complex carbs/fats: 🍇, 🍊, @ellasflats seed crackers, honey toasted nuts 
Salty: @lesserevilsnacks 🍿 @fitjoy 🥨 and @bouldercanyon 🥔 chips all fried in 🥑 oil 
Sweets: my Paleo Pear Berry Muffins (on my site)🫐 

What are your faves to pack for a picnic?🧺
RECIPE🍒🍫🍧 Cherry Garcia Overnight Oats ( RECIPE🍒🍫🍧

Cherry Garcia Overnight Oats
(yields 8 portions)

3 cups GF rolled oats (I used @bobsredmill)
3.5 cups coconut or almond milk (I used @threetreesfoods almond milk)
2 scoops (or servings) chocolate protein powder (I used @paleovalley)
2 scoops (or servings) powdered collagen (I just @perfectsupplements)
2 Tablespoons chia seeds 
1/4 teaspoon mineral salt 
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 
1/4 cup honey
1 Tablespoon MCT coconut oil
1/4 cup cashew butter 
1/3 cup chocolate chips (I used @lilys_sweets no sugar added)
2/3 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped, plus more to garnish 

Mix everything up in a large bowl and chill overnight. Serve topped with a splash of preferred milk, a dash of maple syrup and enjoy!🍒🍫

Pastured Scrambled @vitalfarms Eggs cooked in Pastured Butter

Salted Caramel Protein Latte with @justingredients Creatine & Salted Caramel Protein, @perfectsupplements collagen and a blend of organic adaptogenic mushrooms for brain health with a tab of pastured butter and a splash of pure maple. 100/10 (I make sure to normally use an immersion blender that isn’t plastic when blending hot liquids 👍🏻) Code calliesalls if you want to try the creatine or protein!

Supplements & filtered water with @justingredients electrolytes.

My son also has one of my Frozen Grain-Free Snickerdoodle Waffles with Almond Butter & Fruit every morning. Recipe on my site!

11am: SNACK
2 Brazil Nuts for hormone health
1 @chomps Original Meat stick

2pm: Dessert for late lunch- perks of being an adult 😂 
I mixed a serving of full-fat grass-fed greek yogurt with @justingredients Just Plain Protein with fresh cherries and two small Simple Mills Brownies. Delish. (Code calliesalls if you want to try out the protein!)

5pm: DINNER
Leftover Scallion Gruyere Turkey Burger (recipe coming this month) with Veggies & Avocado, Homemade Potato Salad with Pastured Eggs and Jalapeño Lime Chips from @sietefoods. SOOO good. 

Total protein for Mom: approx 145 grams plus plenty of healthy fats & fiber🤩How do you stay nourished while on vacation?
