Up until two years ago, I drank to unwind and what Up until two years ago, I drank to unwind and what I thought was decompressing…

Little did I know that the wine was actually making my anxiety and brain fog even worse. What I do now👇🏻

🌅Step outside barefoot and watch the sunset- grounding my nervous system instead of numbing it.

🧁Bake a sweet & nourishing treat with my 4YO.

☕️Make a bone broth hot chocolate or sleepy mocktail- something to sip that still feels ritualistic.

🧖‍♀️Take a hot shower with eucalyptus and put on cozy lounge clothes.

🧘🏼‍♀️Do a few minutes of gua sha and red light therapy on my neck and lower back for relaxation.

📖Journal what I’m grateful for.

💤Go to bed early and wake up clear-headed- the kind of energy no wine could ever give.

I don’t miss the glass of wine. I love who I’ve become without it.

Especially during the holidays when everything is colorful, sparkly and marketed straight to kids.

My son still enjoys treats, (tons of treats😂). He still gets the magic. We just choose versions that don’t hijack his gut, his mood or his nervous system.

What’s hard is that holiday food itself isn’t the problem.

It’s that so many kiddo holiday foods have quietly turned into chemicals with artificial dyes, ultra-refined sugars, inflammatory oils and other things that little bodies were never meant to process daily.

So yes, we celebrate.
We bake, decorate, share sweets and make memories.
We just don’t need food that disrupts his digestion, sleep, behavior or immune system to make it feel special🎄✨🫶🏻
