Quit adding dairy to your scrambled eggs if you wa Quit adding dairy to your scrambled eggs if you want them airy. A splash of water creates steam for fluffier eggs, dairy tastes great but weighs them down.

Cooking white rice with a 2:1 ratio creates wet rice- use 1.5:1 ratio instead.

Baked goods *always need salt*. It brings out the flavors in things.

If you cook chicken to 165 degrees, you will have dry chicken. Pull it at 150ish degrees and it will continue to cook as it rests.

If you are garnishing a dish with an herb, make sure that herb is in the dish too.

Don’t overcrowd your pan. Crowding = steaming, not searing. Give food space to brown.

Yellow onions > white onions for cooking.

Let your steak come to room temp before cooking. Cold meat seizes up in the pan and cooks unevenly.

If you are a baker and not rotating your pan midway through cooking, your baked goods won’t likely cook uniformly.

Stop using out of season produce- in season tastes so much better and costs less🤩

If January feels heavy, this is your permission slip to slow down. Stable blood sugar, regulated mornings, fewer stressors and deeper rest are the keys❄️

🧂You aren’t adding enough salt. Salt enhances the 🧂You aren’t adding enough salt.
Salt enhances the flavor of literally everything. Many times, all a dish needs is more salt.

☝🏻You are adding too much black pepper. Pepper and salt are not the same although they are used interchangeably- pepper changes the flavor and adds a bitterness.

🐠The white on the salmon are cooked proteins meaning it was cooked too long.

🧄Don’t add garlic at the same time as your onion or you will have a bitter dish with burnt garlic and undercooked onions.

🥩You are searing incorrectly. Hot pan + cool oil = foods don’t stick.

🌶️Drizzling sriracha for aesthetic plating points will ruin your dish.

🍋Citrus zest can take a dish from a 7 to a 10 pretty easily.

🤢 If you leave food on your counter overnight, no it’s not safe to eat no matter what the local mom group tells you 😂

🧅Adding your onions *after* you brown ground meat will dry out the meat. Add them first.

🫶🏻Don’t cook something because it’s trendy- cook it because you love it🫶🏻

Do we need a part two?!?!🤩
