I know it’s a touchy subject but I feel like I can I know it’s a touchy subject but I feel like I can comment on it, because I did it. 

I made the choice to spend extra money on quality proteins like wild-caught fish and organic pastured chicken and use oils like olive oil and avocado oil. 

It was not a cheap choice, but I wasn’t going to serve something to my customers that I wouldn’t feed myself or my family. 

Nowadays, people are learning more about what goes into our meals and some restaurants are catching on. 

For me, if the restaurant spends more money and attention on the decor and exclusivity of their spot over the quality of the ingredients they are cooking with, it’s a no for me. 

Anyone else? I know this topic is nuanced but let’s talk about it…

There is zero shame in my quesadilla game. Here is There is zero shame in my quesadilla game. Here is how I make them more nourishing and a “complete” meal for my 5YO son. 

1. I start with GF tortillas made with simple ingredients that don’t fall apart. My fave is the @riseandpuff GF Tortillas made with 5 simple ingredients like avocado oil and honey.

2. Always add a protein- we do organic deli turkey with raw cheese often or add in taco seasoned beef or leftover shredded chicken.

3. Add healthy fats + fiber to the side. I always add fresh avocado or guacamole along with some fresh fruit to round out the meal. Easy peasy!
