Nourishing Lactation Bites
These delightful sweet & chewy chocolate oat bites contain great ingredients proven to help promote and sustain breast milk for nursing mothers. Not nursing? Sub protein powder for the brewer's yeast and you have a delicious protein bite.
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 T brewers yeast (sub protein powder to turn lactation bites into protein bites)
- ½ cup ground flaxseed
- ½ cup drippy all natural peanut butter crunchy or creamy
- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 pitted dates chopped small
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3 T coconut oil melted
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt (don't skip)
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a large bowl. Chill for 10 minutes.
Grease your hands and a small sheet pan with coconut oil spray.
Roll mixture into uniform tablespoon-sized balls with a cookie scoop and transfer to the greased sheet pan.
Freeze for 10 mins until set then transfer to a storage container and freeze until ready to enjoy.
Let bites defrost 5 min before enjoying. I usually defrosted two for a serving.
